Fullerton Fireworks Rain Policy

In 60 years our event has never been cancelled due to rain, however there is always a contingency plan in place. The County Fire Marshal makes the final decision whether to delay or cancel the display. Rain can be one challenge, but lightning and thunder present a serious safety issue. Maryland law prevents fireworks from being launched until 30 minutes after all lightning and thunder have stopped. Stray lightning strikes can hit unlaunched fireworks and ignite them on the ground, which can easily cause serious injury to bystanders. If there is only light rain with no lightning and thunder, the show will go on! Thank you for your understanding as we work to keep everyone safe.
